Introductory and refresher course in flow cytometry
Working principals of a flow cytometer, set-up and calibration, compensation, fluorescence and fluorochromes, pre-analytical methods, immunodetection, data analysis, strategies for the analysis of peripheral blood samples, applications in immunology.

Target Audience : Anyone working in the biomedical field with no prior knowledge of flow cytometry, users lacking the fundamentals of flow cytometry.
Prerequisites : Basic knowledge in biology and medicine
Courses objectives : The students will learn :
• the basic principles of FCM.
• how to perform multicolor staining experiments with adequate compensations.
• how to elaborate and apply various gating strategies for data analysis.
• the most common applications of flow cytometry in hematology and immunology.
Costs : Public sector: 1200 CHF (up to 2 weeks prior to course start; afterwards 1500 CHF)
